COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of this engineering course, students share a common curriculum across related disciplines such as Automotive, Mechanical, and Motorsport Engineering, allowing them to build a strong foundational knowledge. Modules include Mechanical Science, Engineering Design, Mathematics, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Applications, and Electrical and Electronic Principles, all of which cover essential concepts in physics, materials, electronics, and problem-solving using modern tools and software. This shared structure gives students the flexibility to switch between related degrees, subject to progression criteria. In the second year, students delve into more advanced and specialized topics. They explore vehicle systems, thermofluid mechanics, solid mechanics and dynamics, and analytical modelling. A strong emphasis is placed on real-world applications and industry practices, such as sustainability, design thinking, and engineering management. These modules help build the technical and analytical skills needed for complex engineering challenges. The final year is designed to consolidate previous learning and prepare students for professional roles or further study. Key modules focus on motorsport-specific content such as aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, and safety through finite element analysis. Students also undertake a major team-based project focused on motorsport product innovation, along with an individual project that simulates a professional engineering assignment. This year fosters collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, culminating in practical outputs that demonstrate technical competency and industry readiness.
