COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electro-Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) degree provides a broad, hands-on education in both electrical and mechanical engineering. In the first year, students develop foundational skills in maths, science, CAD design, mechanical systems, and electrical circuits. These subjects are taught with a strong practical focus to prepare students for further study and professional work. Completing the first year leads to an HNC qualification.The second year builds on these skills, moving into more advanced topics like mechatronics, manufacturing, renewable energy, and mechanical systems analysis. Students use industry-standard tools and software to explore sustainable technologies and modern manufacturing approaches. Completion of the second year results in an HND qualification.The final year focuses on independent learning and real-world engineering challenges. Modules cover systems control, project management, and embedded systems such as IoT. Students complete an individual engineering project, applying their accumulated skills to solve practical problems. Upon graduation, students earn a full BEng (Hons) in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, ready to enter careers in a range of industries such as robotics, manufacturing, energy, and automation.
