COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electro-mechanical BEng degree is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in both electrical and mechanical engineering principles, preparing them for diverse roles in the engineering field. In the first year, students are introduced to basic mathematics, science, and engineering knowledge, alongside gaining proficiency in design skills using industry-standard software. They explore core concepts in mechanical and electrical engineering, including mechanical systems, electrical principles, and the application of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools. Upon completion, students earn a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.In the second year, the focus shifts to more advanced topics in mechatronics, manufacturing, and renewable energy. Students gain practical experience with mechatronics systems, smart manufacturing technology, and renewable energy solutions, all while developing hands-on expertise using industry-standard hardware and software. The year culminates in the acquisition of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.In the final year, students refine their skills in systems engineering, control, embedded systems, and project management. They undertake independent research projects, exploring emerging trends and technologies in engineering. The program concludes with the completion of a substantial engineering project, supported by project management training, preparing students for real-world engineering challenges. Upon successful completion of the final year, students are awarded a BEng (Hons) degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. This program equips graduates with the skills necessary to excel in various engineering sectors, including design, manufacturing, mechatronics, and renewable energy.
