COURSE CURRICULUM

The course provides a structured path for students pursuing degrees in fields like Computer Systems Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In the first year, students share a common curriculum, allowing them to develop a broad understanding of engineering principles before specializing in later years. Key modules in the first year include Engineering Mathematics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Principles, Engineering Design, Analogue and Digital Devices, Electronic Systems in Action, and Introduction to Programming. These modules aim to develop a strong foundation in mathematics, electronics, system design, and programming, while encouraging collaboration with peers from similar courses. In the second year, the focus shifts to more advanced topics such as Analogue and Digital Systems, Signals and System Analysis, Embedded System Design and Development, Manufacture of Electronic Systems, Electrical Engineering, and Analogue Control and Instrumentation. These modules deepen students' understanding of electrical and electronic systems, control engineering, and manufacturing processes, while also introducing practical applications. In the final year, students are expected to reach a professional level of capability, with modules like Digital Signal Processing and Applications, Power Electronics and Renewable Energy, and Individual Project Preparation and Realisation. The individual project is a significant component of the final year, where students design and implement a system or concept, applying their knowledge and skills to a specialized area of interest. By the end of the program, students will be well-prepared to enter the engineering profession with a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and practical experience in real-world projects.
