COURSE CURRICULUM

This undergraduate business course is structured over three years, beginning with a common first year that allows students to study alongside peers from related courses such as business management, marketing, international business, human resources, event management, and sport management. This shared curriculum provides a broad introduction to essential business concepts, encouraging collaboration and offering the flexibility to transfer to a different but related course after the first year. Year one modules include entrepreneurial thinking and ideation, which introduce the principles of entrepreneurship and the creative process of generating and pitching new ideas. Other modules such as foundations of management and organisational behaviour explore how businesses operate and how individuals function within the workplace. Additionally, students gain introductory knowledge in marketing, digital and social media, and are taught to make business decisions using data analysis techniques. In the second year, the focus shifts toward building professional, technical, and global skills. Students engage with real-world business problems and work on innovative solutions. Modules include innovation in practice, managing people in a global context, and supply chain management, providing insight into current global business challenges. The curriculum also covers financial and management accounting, strategy development, and research skills through the design of a research proposal. In the final year, students refine their expertise and prepare for future careers or postgraduate study. They explore how disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain are reshaping industries and business models. A key component is the final year project, where students conduct an in-depth investigation into a topic of their choice, either as a dissertation or a work-based project. The final module, global logistics management, helps students understand strategic logistics planning and operational techniques.
