COURSE CURRICULUM

The degree program in VFX offers a structured pathway with a common first year that allows students from related courses, such as Animation, Digital Media, and Games Design, to collaborate and gain a broad understanding of the creative industries. This first year includes modules like Skills Lab, Hack Lab and Creative Play, and Narrative and Storytelling, which introduce students to core techniques and creative problem-solving, while fostering teamwork and the development of individual skills. In the second year, the focus shifts to advancing technical knowledge and practical abilities, with modules such as Character Design and Animation, Match Moving, Mattes, and Compositing, and Portfolio Development. Students deepen their expertise in areas like 3D animation, compositing, and portfolio creation, preparing them for industry roles. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through specialized modules such as Look Development, Grading and Finishing, and Floods, Flames, and Destruction, which involve advanced techniques in visual effects production. The culmination of the program is the Final Major Project, where students apply their skills to a real-world brief, showcasing their technical and creative abilities. By completing this program, students are equipped with the knowledge and portfolio to enter the VFX industry, with a well-rounded understanding of the creative and technical aspects required to succeed.
