COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of this course, you will be introduced to the core concepts of finance and accounting. You will explore economics, including microeconomics and macroeconomics, and how they impact business decisions. Additionally, you will study legal frameworks that govern businesses and begin learning about financial accounting, including how companies produce financial statements. The year will also focus on building essential academic and professional skills, such as critical thinking, numerical techniques, and effective information handling. Key modules include Introduction to Economics, Professional Practice and Academic Skills, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Corporate and Business Law, Business and Technology, and Introduction to Management Accounting. In the second year, you will delve deeper into finance, learning about the international regulatory framework for financial reporting and analysis. You will also study international business strategy, corporate financial management, performance management, taxation, and financial markets. The focus will shift to applying your knowledge to real-world scenarios, critically evaluating business strategies, and understanding the relationship between financial status and business decisions. In your final year, you will refine your research skills in preparation for your major project. Modules in the final year include Research Methods and Business Data Analytics, International Corporate Reporting, and Financial Investment and Risk. You will also have the option to complete a dissertation or project linked to your industry experience. This year will challenge you to take a high-level approach to finance, applying all that you’ve learned to a comprehensive final project. By the end of the course, you will be well-prepared for a career in accounting or finance, equipped with both technical expertise and practical experience.
