The Fashion course is structured to help students build a strong foundation in the first year before progressing into more specialist areas of the fashion industry. In Year 1, students explore the industry through a broad lens, gaining insight into different specialisms, communities of practice, and industry standards, with modules such as Fashion Communities and Fashion Futures focusing on personal development and professional readiness. Modules like Reshaping Fashion and Disruptive Practice allow students to experiment with materials and technology, while also encouraging them to respond to emerging consumer needs and sustainability trends. Creative Revolutions and Fashion Activators further develop students’ abilities to think critically about branding, ethics, and global fashion markets. In Year 2, the emphasis shifts toward personal direction and specialisation. Students engage with modules such as Fashion Enterprise and Fashion Innovation, where they explore their unique creative paths and respond to contemporary themes in the industry. Fashion Futures: Industry Ready supports career planning, encouraging students to define and pursue professional goals. Modules like International Fashion Exploration and Developing Specialisms provide a global perspective, offering opportunities to engage with international collaborations and industry projects. Fashion Statement offers a space for students to apply their learning in a self-led, ambitious body of work. By the final year, students are encouraged to consolidate their knowledge and skills while shaping their professional identity. Future Fashion Concepts and Ideation guide students through the early stages of developing a major project, while Fashion Futures: Graduate Ready focuses on presentation and career readiness. The capstone module, Future Fashion Realisation, allows students to create a substantial body of work, showcasing their individual strengths through exhibitions, collections, or alternative industry-standard presentations. Throughout the course, there's a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and adaptability—key values for a successful career in the ever-evolving fashion world.
