COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) in Business Management and Leadership is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to become effective leaders in today’s dynamic business environment. The course combines key management principles with practical application, preparing students for a range of roles across industries.In year one, students are introduced to the foundations of business and management. Topics include the business environment, marketing, communication, and the core principles of leadership. Students learn how businesses operate within both micro and macro environments, develop communication and collaborative working skills, and explore the different leadership styles that influence organisational success. On completion of this year, students are eligible for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Business Management and Leadership.Year two focuses on building operational knowledge and practical skills. Modules include economic and financial management, entrepreneurship, resource management, and project management. Students explore how economic theory and financial analysis inform business decisions, how to manage people and resources effectively, and how to innovate through enterprise. They also gain experience planning and evaluating business projects. This year leads to a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Management and Leadership.In the final year, students focus on strategic thinking and leadership at a senior level. Topics include change management, international business, globalisation, and contemporary issues such as governance and sustainability. Students examine how strategic decisions are made and how organisations respond to internal and external pressures. The year concludes with an independent management project, giving students the opportunity to research and analyse a business issue of their choice.Throughout the course, students develop essential transferable skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making. Graduates are well-prepared to take on management roles, start their own business, or continue to postgraduate study.
