Hacklab and Creative Play encourages team-based responses to real-world briefs, fostering innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. Narrative and Storytelling explores traditional and emerging storytelling formats, including games and immersive media. Skills Lab develops design principles using industry-standard tools across VFX, games, animation, and virtual production. From 2D to 3D: Developing Visual Skills enhances visualisation techniques and reflective learning through 2D and 3D media. Prototyping, Concept Development and Design focuses on creative problem analysis, ideation, sketching, prototyping, and concept presentation. People, Pipelines, and Production introduces the contemporary creative industries landscape, covering roles, workflows, and the impact of evolving technologies. In year two, students deepen their knowledge through specialist modules in animation, character design, and modelling. Animation Studio and Experimentation encourages creative risk-taking and the development of a personal visual style. Character Design and Animation builds on foundational animation skills, advancing techniques like rigging, rendering, and pre-visualisation. The Creature Workshop delves into 3D sculpting and rigging, supported by anatomical research. Pre-production in Animation teaches the pre-production pipeline, emphasizing professionalism and industry relevance. Modelling and Rigging focuses on technical modelling standards and musculoskeletal rigging for different media formats. Collaborative Practice in Animation enhances team dynamics and project development through shared animation tasks. The final year prepares students for professional careers by consolidating their skills through practical projects and professional development. Animation Challenge Project involves responding to external and self-initiated briefs, focusing on idea generation and client expectations. Animation in Context supports industry research and reflection for professional positioning. Professional Practice Portfolio helps students assemble and evaluate their body of work. Working in Collaboration focuses on team project execution and communication. The Final Major Project allows students to independently create a substantial professional-quality piece, integrating their technical, creative, and analytical skills.
