The MSc Transport and Planning program offers a well-rounded curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in shaping and improving transportation systems and urban development. Students begin with modules like Principles of Transport Economics, which introduces them to economic frameworks and funding issues in transport. Researching Transport develops skills in data collection and analysis, preparing students for academic and applied research. Transport and the City explores the complex relationship between urban form and mobility, highlighting the social and spatial dynamics of transport systems. Transport Analysis trains students in modelling and analytical techniques used in evaluating and forecasting travel behaviour and demand. Sustainable Transport Policies provides an understanding of how to promote greener, more equitable transport strategies in response to climate change, social equity, and economic development. The Dissertation module, a significant part of the program, allows students to apply their knowledge to a real-world problem or research question, enhancing their critical thinking and project management abilities.Optional modules give students the opportunity to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Environmental Management explores how transport systems interact with natural ecosystems and introduces methods for reducing environmental impacts.
