COURSE CURRICULUM

The first year of the MSc in Logistics and Operations Management provides a comprehensive foundation in operational and supply chain management, combining core theoretical knowledge with practical research and analytical skills. Core modules include Operations Management (BST803, 15 credits), which introduces principles and practices for managing efficient organisational processes, and Logistics and its Provision (BST804, 15 credits), which examines the planning, coordination, and delivery of goods and services across supply chains. Research Skills and Methods (BST847, 15 credits) equips students with essential qualitative and quantitative research techniques, preparing them for academic inquiry and professional decision-making. The Logistics and Operations Management Dissertation (BST848, 60 credits) enables students to undertake independent research on a topic of their choice, applying theoretical and methodological knowledge to produce a substantial, research-led project. A wide range of optional modules allows students to tailor the program to their interests and career goals, covering areas such as Strategic Supply Chain Management, Business Data Analytics, Information Systems and Organisations, Project Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, International Logistics, Multimodal Transport Operations, Risk Management in Supply Chains, Supply Chain Dynamics, Port Management, Digital Supply Chain and Logistics, and Circular Economy Operations.
