COURSE CURRICULUM

The core modules for year one of the MSc in International Economics, Banking and Finance provide a structured foundation in economic theory, financial analysis, quantitative skills, and international banking practice. The Research Dissertation (IEBF) BST770, worth 60 credits, forms a significant part of the program and enables students to conduct an in-depth research project on a topic related to economics, banking, or finance, developing advanced research, analytical and academic writing skills. Principles of Finance BST750 (20 credits) introduces key concepts in financial decision-making, asset valuation, capital structure, and financial markets. Macroeconomics BST751 (20 credits) explores national and global economic performance, including inflation, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policy, and international economic cycles. Microeconomics BST752 (20 credits) examines market behaviour, consumer and firm decision-making, competition, and pricing strategies. Quantitative Methods BST753 (20 credits) equips students with essential statistical and econometric techniques for data analysis and evidence-based decision-making. International Banking BST754 (20 credits) focuses on the structure, regulation, and risk management of global banking systems and institutions, preparing students for careers in commercial and investment banking.
