COURSE CURRICULUM

The engineering management program is structured around five core modules that provide a comprehensive blend of leadership development, strategic thinking, sustainability awareness, and practical project experience. These modules are specifically designed to support engineers transitioning into management roles and to equip them with the skills necessary to address real-world engineering and business challenges. Each 30-credit module, along with a 60-credit dissertation, contributes to a well-rounded academic and practical foundation."Leadership, Strategy and Innovation" (ENT801) focuses on developing essential leadership capabilities and strategic decision-making skills. It explores how innovation can be fostered and managed within engineering contexts, preparing students to lead in rapidly evolving technological environments. "Management Skills for Engineers" (ENT802) equips students with a core toolkit of management practices, including project planning, financial management, and team leadership, all tailored to the engineering sector.The "Being Sustainable Project" (ENT803) module encourages students to engage with sustainability challenges and apply systems thinking to propose responsible, innovative engineering solutions aligned with global development goals. "Making and Checking" (ENT804) provides hands-on experience with engineering design, production processes, and quality assurance, allowing students to understand the lifecycle of engineering projects from concept to implementation.The program culminates in the "Engineering Management Dissertation" (ENT805), a 60-credit research project that allows students to apply their learning to a significant challenge or area of interest, often in collaboration with industry. This dissertation provides an opportunity to conduct in-depth analysis and propose practical, evidence-based solutions, demonstrating both technical knowledge and leadership insight.Collectively, these modules aim to transform technically proficient engineers into well-rounded, strategic engineering managers capable of leading sustainable and innovative change across various industries and sectors.
