COURSE CURRICULUM

The core modules in the Civil and Geoenvironmental Engineering MSc provide a comprehensive foundation in environmental, technical and professional competencies essential for geoenvironmental practice. Key modules such as Industrial Practice and Professional Engineering Studies support the development of workplace readiness and awareness of engineering responsibilities. Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Environmental Policy and Regulation build understanding of environmental processes and legislative frameworks influencing engineering decisions. Technical depth is strengthened through modules like Flood Design, Soil and Groundwater Chemistry and Waste Management and Recycling, enabling students to address challenges related to water systems, pollution transport and sustainable waste solutions. The Engineering Case Study integrates learning through problem-based project work, reflecting real professional scenarios. The 60-credit Dissertation allows students to specialise in a research area within civil, structural, geoenvironmental or water engineering, offering valuable investigative and analytical experience.
