The core modules for year one provide a comprehensive foundation in modern business management, equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills needed for effective leadership in diverse organisational settings. Understanding Organisations and the Business Environment introduces the structure, culture and external influences that shape business performance. Global Marketing explores international market strategies and consumer behaviour, helping students understand how organisations compete and communicate in worldwide markets. Managing People focuses on human resource management, leadership, motivation and team dynamics, developing the skills required to manage and support a diverse workforce. Analysing Financial Performance covers essential financial tools and techniques used to interpret business data and make informed decisions about profitability and sustainability. Strategic and Operational Decision Making examines frameworks and analytical approaches that drive long-term planning, innovation and operational efficiency. Business in Action offers hands-on experience through practical activities and real business scenarios, allowing students to apply theoretical learning to real organisational challenges. The Consultancy Challenge, a major project worth 60 credits, brings together learning from across the program, requiring students to work on a live consultancy brief and present strategic recommendations to a client. Collectively, these modules aim to build strong analytical, managerial and problem-solving capabilities essential for professional success.
