COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Applied and Experimental Clinical Immunology provides a structured program that combines theoretical knowledge with practical research experience to develop advanced expertise in immunology. In the first year, students complete a series of core modules designed to equip them with a deep understanding of immune system function, disease mechanisms, and cutting-edge technologies. Modules include Fundamental Immunology, which covers the essential principles underlying immune responses, and New and Emerging Immunotechnologies, focusing on innovative tools for studying and manipulating the immune system. Computational Immunology introduces students to data analysis and modelling approaches used to interpret complex immunological datasets. The course also includes Immunomodulation of the Immune System in Complex Diseases, exploring how immune activity can be targeted in conditions such as autoimmunity, inflammation, and cancer, and Anti-microbial Immunity and Therapeutics, which examines host-pathogen interactions and the development of novel treatments. The Immunology of Multi-morbidity addresses the challenges of overlapping disease processes and the immune system’s role in managing multiple conditions simultaneously. Central to the program is the Project and Dissertation, allowing students to design and conduct an independent research project under expert supervision, integrating laboratory, computational, and analytical skills. By completing these modules, students gain a comprehensive foundation in both experimental and applied immunology, preparing them for careers in research, clinical practice, or biotechnology industries, and equipping them to contribute to the advancement of healthcare and biomedical science.
