COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s in Public Health includes a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for professional public health practice. The program consists of five core modules that provide a solid foundation in key public health areas. Statistical Methodology introduces students to statistical concepts and techniques for analyzing public health data, while Basic Epidemiology and Applied Epidemiology focus on understanding and applying epidemiological methods to investigate disease patterns, risk factors, and public health interventions. The Health Economics, Policy and Planning module explores how economic principles influence health policy decisions and healthcare resource allocation, giving students a critical perspective on planning and managing public health systems. The Dissertation in Public Health, which carries the highest credit value, allows students to undertake independent research on a relevant topic of their choice, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges and contribute to public health evidence.In addition to the core modules, students choose from a selection of optional modules that enable specialization and exploration of individual interests within public health. Health Improvement addresses strategies to promote wellness and prevent disease, while Health Protection focuses on controlling infectious diseases and managing environmental hazards. Global Health examines international health issues, health inequalities, and cross-border health governance. Leadership and Management in Health develops skills required for leading health services and organizations effectively. Together, these modules offer a well-rounded academic experience, blending theory with practical application. Students emerge from the program with a robust understanding of public health principles, analytical and research capabilities, and strategic leadership qualities needed to respond to contemporary health challenges on local, national, and global levels.
