COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the MA in AI and Digital Media Production, students complete a set of core modules designed to provide a strong foundation in both technical skills and critical understanding of digital media. The program begins with AI and Digital Storytelling, which explores how artificial intelligence can be used creatively in content production, alongside an examination of the ethical and practical challenges it presents. Digital Media Production 1 and 2 develop hands-on skills across multiple formats, including video, animation, and podcasting, allowing students to apply creative concepts in realistic production contexts. Understanding Digital Media equips students with a theoretical and analytical framework to interpret contemporary digital culture, audience behaviour, and industry trends, while Innovation and Digital Enterprise focuses on the entrepreneurial aspects of media production, encouraging students to develop strategies for creative and commercially viable content. Professional Research Methods provides the tools needed to conduct robust, evidence-based research, which is applied in the Dissertation Project, a substantial piece of independent work that allows students to explore a topic of personal or professional interest in depth. Together, these modules ensure students graduate with a balance of practical experience, theoretical insight, and research capability, preparing them for dynamic careers in digital media, content creation, and emerging AI-driven industries.
