COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM Human Rights Law program is structured to provide both core and optional modules that equip students with a comprehensive understanding of human rights and related legal fields. The core component consists of a dissertation, allowing students to conduct in-depth research on a topic of their choice, developing advanced analytical, research, and writing skills applicable in legal practice, academia, or policy work. In addition to the dissertation, students can select from a wide range of optional modules to tailor their learning according to their professional goals or personal interests. These options cover diverse areas of law, including insurance law, international sales law, comparative corporate governance, world trade law, constitutionalism and governance, the law of devolution in Wales, and commercial arbitration. Students can also explore human rights and global justice, environmental and climate change law, intellectual property through copyright and trade marks, money laundering and financial crime, admiralty law, carriage of goods by sea, international energy law, international investment law, international criminal law, and the intersections of medicine, law, and society. Additional modules address European law, governance, and contemporary challenges in human rights enforcement. This flexibility allows students to develop a specialized knowledge base while gaining a strong foundation in research and critical legal analysis, preparing them for careers in law, international organisations, and public policy.
