COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Economics BSc program offers a rigorous blend of economic theory, quantitative analysis, and practical business applications. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules in microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematics and statistics, and economic history, alongside opportunities to work on team projects that apply theory to real-world business scenarios. This establishes essential analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. In the second year, the program deepens students’ understanding of micro- and macroeconomic theory while introducing econometrics, enabling them to identify patterns in complex data sets and develop precise analytical skills. Core modules such as the Economics of Industrial Organisation provide specialised business insights, and students can select optional modules in areas like corporate law, marketing, and globalisation to tailor their learning to individual career interests. The third year focuses on applying economic knowledge to practical business challenges, with core modules covering strategic management, competition and regulation, and entrepreneurship and innovation. Students can further specialise through optional modules spanning labour economics, environmental economics, behavioural economics, economic geography, and international economic history. Overall, the program equips graduates with a versatile skill set combining rigorous economic analysis with practical business expertise, preparing them for careers in consultancy, finance, policy, and management, or for further postgraduate study.
