COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Accounting and Finance program provides a structured and comprehensive education in accounting and financial principles, beginning with a foundational first year that introduces students to key business disciplines. Students explore how accounting and finance intersect with economics, statistics, law, and marketing, establishing a well-rounded base of knowledge. Core modules in this year include subjects like applied statistics and mathematics, legal studies, fundamentals of finance and financial reporting, economics, and principles of marketing and strategy. These modules build analytical, numerical, and conceptual skills essential for future studies and professional development in the field.In the second year, the program shifts toward integrating theory with practice, enabling students to apply their foundational knowledge to real-world financial scenarios. Core modules focus on management accounting, corporate financial management, corporate reporting, and financial markets and institutions. This stage deepens students’ understanding of organisational finance and introduces them to current developments within the accounting and finance sectors. Students are also given the opportunity to select from various specialist pathways, allowing them to shape their learning around specific career goals or interests.The final year of the program emphasises mastery of advanced topics in financial management. Students explore complex areas such as financial derivatives, security analysis, portfolio management, and corporate finance and strategy. Core modules also cover advanced corporate reporting and management accounting and control, further sharpening students’ strategic thinking and technical expertise. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to critically assess the financial and ethical dimensions of decision-making in a global context.
