COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sport Rehabilitation program comprises a series of modules designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical expertise in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries. The Sports Injuries and Clinical Assessment module develops understanding of the biomechanics and pathophysiology of neuromusculoskeletal disorders, enhancing skills in applied clinical anatomy and functional assessment. Rehabilitation Principles and Injury Management equips students with techniques such as sports massage and peripheral mobilisation, alongside the knowledge to design effective rehabilitation programs tailored to individual needs. Applied Functional Rehabilitation focuses on managing health and performance for individuals from diverse sporting and health backgrounds, integrating exercise modalities, objective testing, and considerations of nutrition and performance-enhancing substances. Professional Clinical Practice consolidates theoretical knowledge and applies it in real-world settings, fostering critically reflective practitioners capable of independent, accountable, and evidence-based practice aligned with industry standards. The Research Methods in Sport module provides advanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative research, enabling students to design and plan independent research projects. Building on this, the Dissertation Project allows students to pursue a supervised research project in a specific area of interest, applying academic rigor to select, conduct, and present findings effectively. Collectively, these modules ensure graduates emerge as competent, reflective, and highly skilled sport rehabilitation practitioners, prepared to meet professional and clinical demands across diverse environments.
