COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sport Broadcast program is structured around a combination of taught modules, practical placement, and a production-focused dissertation, providing students with a comprehensive and industry-aligned learning experience. Students complete 80 credits of taught modules, covering essential areas such as Television Broadcasting and Sport On Screen, Audio and Digital Broadcasting, Research Skills in Journalism and Documentary, and Ethics, Media Law, and Landscape. These modules equip students with the theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and professional understanding required to operate effectively in modern sports media. A 60-credit Professional Broadcasting Placement module offers students hands-on experience in real-world broadcast environments, allowing them to apply their skills across roles such as presenter, reporter, producer, camera operator, editor, and social media content creator, while building industry networks and professional contacts. The program concludes with a 40-credit Dissertation Documentary, where students research, plan, and produce a broadcast-quality documentary, consolidating their practical, analytical, and storytelling abilities. With no optional modules, the course ensures a focused and cohesive curriculum designed to prepare graduates for immediate employment in the sports broadcasting sector.
