COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence offers an advanced curriculum designed to equip students with both theoretical understanding and hands-on experience in robotic systems and intelligent technologies. Compulsory modules include Advanced AI in Robotics, where students learn to integrate AI into robotic systems, and 3D Bio-Inspired Robot Design, which focuses on human-centred design and rapid prototyping. Mobile Robotics introduces key concepts such as navigation, localisation, and coordination in robot swarms. The Applications for Social and Service Robots module explores real-world implementations of socially responsive and service-oriented robotics. Vision with Deep Learning provides foundational knowledge of applying deep learning to visual systems in robotics. Research and Professional Practice prepares students for the dissertation through advanced research methodologies, while the Technology Dissertation offers an opportunity to work independently on a real-world robotics or AI project.In addition to the core modules, students choose from a range of optional modules to tailor the program to their interests. Options include Sensors and Actuators, Frontiers in Technology, Programming for Data Analysis, and Information Security, offering further specialisation in robotics engineering, emerging tech trends, data programming, and cybersecurity. The full MSc requires completion of 180 credits, while exit awards such as the Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) and Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) are available upon completing 60 or 120 credits, respectively. The program balances innovation with practical application, developing professionals who are prepared for careers in cutting-edge robotics, intelligent systems, and technological innovation.
