COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc International Events Management is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career in the global events industry. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of 180 credits, which includes 100 credits of compulsory taught modules, one optional module of 20 credits, and a 60-credit final project. The program also offers exit points, with a Postgraduate Certificate awarded for 60 credits and a Postgraduate Diploma for 120 credits of completed taught modules. Compulsory modules cover essential topics such as managing cultural dimensions of global business, contemporary issues in international events management, destination marketing, research skills for professional practice, and event experience, design, and management. Students can further personalise their learning by selecting one optional module from areas including developing quality destinations, contemporary global issues in hospitality, entrepreneurial decision-making for destination, hospitality and events, or professional practice. The final project module allows students to consolidate their learning through an internship project, dissertation, enterprise project, or consultancy project, providing an opportunity for practical application, independent research, and critical evaluation of a specialised topic. The curriculum integrates theory, strategy, and hands-on experience, preparing graduates to lead and innovate within events management, tourism, and hospitality sectors worldwide.
