COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc International Destination Management is a 180-credit program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the global tourism industry. The degree comprises 100 credits of compulsory taught modules, a 20-credit optional module, and a 60-credit project module. Students completing 60 credits of taught modules may be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate, while those completing 120 credits may receive a Postgraduate Diploma. Core modules cover essential aspects of destination management, including managing cultural dimensions in global business, critical concepts in destination management, destination marketing, research skills for professional practice, and developing quality destinations. Students can tailor their studies by selecting one optional module from areas such as contemporary global issues in hospitality, event experience, design and management, entrepreneurial decision making for destination, hospitality and events, or professional practice, allowing insight into the interconnected fields of tourism, hospitality, and events management. The final 60-credit project enables students to undertake a dissertation, internship project, enterprise project, or consultancy project, providing practical experience and the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. Throughout the program, students develop a strategic understanding of destination management, critical research skills, and professional competencies, preparing them for leadership and specialist roles in tourism, hospitality, and events industries at a global level.
