COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Human Resource Management (HRM) offers an in-depth exploration of the theoretical and practical aspects of HRM, examining how strategic and operational decisions impact organisations and their people. The course applies current business concepts to real-world HR scenarios, encouraging students to critically engage with contemporary challenges in the workplace. Participants study how HR strategies and policies affect various stakeholders, including employees, managers, and HR professionals, gaining insights into the evolving role of HR in modern organisations. The program is structured into three key stages. In the first semester, students complete the Postgraduate Certificate by earning 60 credits through three core modules: Contemporary Issues in People Management, Change, Leadership and Professional Development, and Resourcing and Talent Management. These modules address fundamental HR topics such as recruitment, workforce planning, leadership, and professional growth. In the second semester, the Postgraduate Diploma stage builds on this foundation with an additional 60 credits, covering modules like Contemporary Employee Relations, Developing and Rewarding People, and Research Skills and Analytics. These focus on employee engagement, performance management, reward systems, and research methodologies essential for HR practice. The final stage of the program is the Master’s Dissertation, a 60-credit research project allowing students to explore a specific area of HRM in depth. Successful completion of all three stages, totaling 180 credits, leads to the award of the MSc in Human Resource Management. This structure ensures a comprehensive academic and practical experience, preparing graduates to take on HR roles with strategic insight and critical awareness in today’s dynamic organisational environments.
