COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) International Hotel and Hospitality Management degree at Cardiff Met offers a structured three-year curriculum designed to develop both academic knowledge and practical skills for a career in the global hospitality industry. In Year One, students build a strong foundation with modules covering hospitality principles, culinary and service operations, marketing, people development, and revenue management, with optional modules in practical hotel operations or professional Spanish to enhance language skills. Year Two focuses on developing specialist knowledge in hotel operations, decision making, and event management, alongside research methods and optional modules in consumer behaviour, people management, entrepreneurship, technology, and social change. Students also have the opportunity to undertake a summer work placement to gain industry experience. In Year Three, the program allows for personalised study aligned with career aspirations, with compulsory modules in critical hospitality, sustainable hotel and hospitality management, and strategic leadership, alongside a major research or applied project. Optional modules enable further specialisation in areas such as resort and stadia management, gastronomic tourism, marketing, employee management, and international languages. Across all years, the degree emphasises practical experience, industry engagement, sustainability, leadership, and strategic thinking.
