COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Brand Management degree is structured over three years to progressively develop creative, analytical, and professional skills. In Year One, students are introduced to the foundations of fashion marketing, buying, branding, and industry knowledge through compulsory modules such as Introduction to Fashion Marketing, Fundamentals of Fashion Studies, Principles of Fashion Buying, Visual Merchandising and Promotion, Digital Media for Fashion, and The Fashion Industry. Year Two builds specialist knowledge in buying and merchandising, consumer behaviour, creative marketing communication, and research methods, while also including the Fashion Buying in Practice module, where students complete an industry work placement to gain valuable real-world experience. Optional modules allow students to explore areas such as Experiential Fashion Strategies or Fashion Product Development and Garment Technology. Students may also choose an optional year-long industry placement after Year Two to enhance employability. In Year Three, students study advanced topics including Strategic Fashion Brand Management, Sustainability and Responsibility in Fashion, and International Fashion Supply Chain Management. They complete either a practical Fashion Buying and Brand Management Project or an academic Fashion Dissertation and choose an optional module such as Fashion Futures and Innovation, Fashion Merchandising and Data Analytics, or Industrial Work Experience. This structure equips graduates with strong professional and creative skills for careers in the global fashion industry.
