COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Events Management degree is structured across three years, progressing from foundational knowledge to specialist skills and professional application. In Year One, students are introduced to core principles of business and event planning through modules such as Event Experience and Design, Events in Society, Professional Practice for Events, People Development within Organisations, Marketing for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, and Revenue, Costing and Budgetary Controls. This provides a broad grounding in event creation, industry context, marketing, teamwork, and financial skills. In Year Two, learning becomes more practical and advanced through compulsory modules including Live Event Management, Large-Scale Event Planning, and Research Design in Practice. Students also choose from modules such as Consumer Behaviour, People Management, Business Start-Up and Entrepreneurship, as well as additional options like Summer Work Placement, Social Change and Inequalities, and Technologies for Tourism, Hospitality and Events. This year enables students to develop specialist knowledge and gain real industry experience. In Year Three, students tailor their studies to career goals through modules such as Sustainability and Ethics in Events, Innovations in Live Events, and Strategic Leadership and Change Management. They can complete a Dissertation, Enterprise Project, Consultancy Project, or Independent Study, and choose from options including Digital Marketing Communications, Volunteer Management, Resort and Stadia Management, Leadership Development, and Gastronomic Tourism.
