COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business Law and Management degree provides a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between legal frameworks and business operations. In the first year, students complete six compulsory modules that lay the foundation in key areas such as contract law, the UK legal system, ethics, legal and professional skills, digital industry knowledge, and people development within organisations. The second year deepens this understanding with modules in global business challenges, business structures and management, in-house law, and change and risk management. Students also begin to shape their pathway by selecting two optional modules, including business law for the digital age, intrapreneurship, or employee experience, offering flexibility based on their career goals. An optional year in industry follows, supported by the university’s dedicated placement team, providing valuable professional experience that enhances employability. In the final year, students complete four core modules that focus on advanced legal subjects including intellectual property law, tort for business, and alternative dispute resolution. Depending on whether they undertake a placement, students also complete either a work experience or leadership module. They then choose a 40-credit optional module such as a dissertation, enterprise launch, or industrial work experience. This structure ensures graduates are equipped with practical skills, business insight, and legal knowledge, ready to thrive in a wide range of professional settings.
