COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business and Management degree is structured to provide both foundational knowledge and the opportunity for specialisation. In the first year (Level 4), all students complete six compulsory 20-credit modules, covering essential areas such as ethics, sustainability, analytical tools, finance, marketing, people development, and entrepreneurial business approaches. This foundational year ensures a well-rounded understanding of business principles and personal development. At Level 5 (Year Two), students take five compulsory modules worth 100 credits, delving into topics like business transformation, global business challenges, ethical operations, supply chain resilience, experiential work or volunteering, and business research. Additionally, students select one 20-credit optional module, which can begin to shape their chosen pathway—Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Supply Chain and Logistics Management, or Marketing. For students not wishing to specialise, a general business module is available. There is also an optional year-long industry internship between the second and final years, offering valuable real-world experience. In the final year (Level 6), students study two core modules common to all pathways—Operationalising Strategy and Leadership in Practice—and then complete two compulsory modules from their chosen pathway. To further personalise their studies, they also select two additional optional modules. Welsh language provision is available for selected modules, mainly at Level 4. This flexible structure allows students to tailor their academic journey to suit individual interests and career aspirations, while still building a comprehensive understanding of business and management practices. Whether opting for a general business route or a specialist pathway, the degree prepares graduates with strong analytical, ethical, and leadership skills to succeed in various business environments.
