COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business and Management degree is structured across three years to develop a comprehensive understanding of core business principles while offering the flexibility to specialise in a chosen pathway. In Year One (Level 4), students undertake six compulsory 20-credit modules designed to provide a solid grounding in essential areas such as ethics, sustainability, marketing, finance, people development, and entrepreneurial practices. These modules also support the development of analytical and personal skills critical for business success. Year Two (Level 5) builds on this foundation with five core modules focused on business transformation, global challenges, ethical supply chain operations, research skills, and experiential work or volunteering opportunities. Students also select one optional module aligned with their pathway of interest, including options such as entrepreneurship, finance, human resources, supply chain management, or marketing. An optional year-long industry placement is available after the second year, supported by a dedicated placement team, offering students real-world experience and an advantage in the job market. In the final year (Level 6), all students complete two compulsory modules—Operationalising Strategy and Leadership in Practice—focused on strategic thinking and practical leadership skills. They also undertake two compulsory modules based on their chosen pathway and select two further optional modules, allowing them to deepen their expertise in their specialist area while enhancing employability and preparing for future careers in a wide range of sectors.
