COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Aviation Management degree combines academic study at Cardiff School of Management with online modules from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to provide a comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge in law, ethics, people development, management principles, aeronautical science, aerospace safety, analytical tools, and research methods, alongside skills in academic and professional practice. The second year focuses on advanced concepts including ethical business operations, global logistics, supply chain resilience, corporate and business aviation, aviation law, safety and program management, aircraft crash and emergency management, and work experience to gain practical insight into aviation operations. In the final year, students consolidate learning through a dissertation or aviation consultancy project, while exploring operational strategy, human resource management, and employment relations in aviation. Additional modules from Embry-Riddle cover airline management, air cargo, trends and current challenges in air transportation, and the management of multicultural workforces. Throughout the program, students engage with both theoretical and practical aspects of aviation management, developing analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills. By integrating industry-focused study, hands-on experience, and exposure to global aviation practices, graduates are prepared to pursue careers in airlines, airports, aviation authorities, logistics, and other specialized roles within the dynamic international aviation sector.
