COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation degree at Canterbury Christ Church University provides a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional experience to prepare students for careers in sports therapy, healthcare, and rehabilitation. In the first year, students develop foundational skills through modules such as soft tissue practice, lower and upper limb anatomy, biomechanics, musculoskeletal injuries, clinical skills, and exercise physiology, alongside professional practice experience and student success modules. The second year builds on this knowledge with an emphasis on injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation for peripheral joints and the spine, psychological aspects of sports injury, examination and treatment techniques, sports trauma management, and continued professional practice. Students gain hands-on experience in realistic clinical environments, enhancing their practical expertise. In the third year, students consolidate their learning through clinical practice, industry placements, and project work, applying their skills in real-world settings. Additional modules focus on exercise prescription for public health and wellbeing, integrating academic knowledge with practical application.
