COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree at Canterbury Christ Church University is structured to combine academic learning with extensive practical experience, equipping students to become competent and confident physiotherapists. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge in human science, healthcare systems, and clinical skills, while also undertaking their initial physiotherapy practice to gain hands-on experience. Academic skills and teamwork are emphasized alongside clinical reasoning, preparing students for professional practice. The second year builds on this foundation with modules in anatomy, physiology, human movement, and health and wellbeing, alongside advanced clinical skills and physiotherapy practice. Evidence-based and sustainable practice is integrated throughout, ensuring students understand how to apply research and best practice in real-world settings. In the third year, students focus on quality improvement, leadership, and managing complex conditions, while completing their final physiotherapy practice placement to consolidate their learning and readiness for professional work. The curriculum provides opportunities for inter-professional learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving, allowing students to adapt to diverse healthcare environments.
