COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Business Economics degree is structured over three years to develop a strong foundation in economic theory, financial management, and business decision-making. In Year 1, students gain essential skills through modules such as Applied Business Statistics, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Economics and Finance Fundamentals, and Introduction to Management Accounting, supported by Student Success modules that enhance academic and professional development. Year 2 builds on this knowledge with Intermediate Economics, Managerial Finance, and Introduction to Fintech, alongside Interdisciplinary modules and Industry, Careers and Enterprise, which provide practical insights into professional environments and develop employability skills. These modules allow students to explore the application of economic principles to real-world business challenges, including emerging financial technologies and interdisciplinary problem-solving. In Year 3, advanced study focuses on Corporate Financial Management, Portfolio and Risk Management, Applied Economics and Policy, and an Accounting, Economics and Finance Project, where students apply research, analytical and decision-making skills to complex economic and financial scenarios. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and practical problem-solving abilities, preparing them for careers in business, finance, consultancy, economic policy, and management. The degree also provides a strong foundation for postgraduate study in economics, finance, business management, or related disciplines, equipping graduates to adapt to a rapidly changing global economy.
