The Software Engineering degree is structured over three years, progressively building students' technical knowledge and practical skills. Mathematics for Computer Science supports logical reasoning and analytical skills, while Fundamentals of Computer Systems lays the groundwork for understanding how hardware and software interact.Year 2 deepens students' knowledge with a focus on real-world applications and professional development. Project and Professional Skills develops teamwork, communication, and project management competencies. Database Design equips students with techniques to model, create, and manage data effectively. Computer Networking introduces network structures and communication protocols. The Software Engineering module covers design patterns, system development methodologies, and quality assurance. Computer Security provides insights into securing software and data, and Web Programming teaches front-end and back-end development for interactive web applications.In the final year, students undertake a major independent Final Dissertation project, applying their accumulated skills to solve a real-world problem. The Cyber Security module deepens knowledge of digital threats and protection mechanisms. 2D and 3D Human Computer Interactions explores user experience design and interface development in both traditional and emerging technologies. Programming Frameworks and Languages examines modern development environments and programming paradigms, enhancing students’ flexibility with tools and technologies. Finally, Advanced Operating Systems dives into the complexities of system-level software, including resource management and concurrent processing.
