COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Events Management degree is structured over three years to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the events, tourism, and hospitality industries, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience. In Year 1, students develop foundational skills through modules such as Introduction to Events, Marketing and Digital Media for the Visitor Economy, Current Trends in Tourism, Hospitality and Events, and Accounting and Finance for the Service Industry, alongside Student Success modules. These modules introduce core concepts in event planning, marketing, finance, and industry trends while enhancing academic and professional skills. Year 2 focuses on applied learning and professional development with modules including Global Service Excellence, Spring Green Events, Interdisciplinary modules, and Industry, Careers and Enterprise. Students gain hands-on experience in planning and executing events, develop a deeper understanding of global service standards, and engage with interdisciplinary perspectives and industry practice. In Year 3, students explore advanced topics and independent research through modules such as Marketing and Creative Placemaking, International Events, Responsible Management and Practice, and the Research Project in Tourism, Hospitality and Events. This final year emphasises strategic planning, creative engagement, sustainability, and research skills, preparing students to manage complex events and make informed, ethical decisions. Graduates leave the program equipped for careers in event management, marketing, tourism, hospitality, or related creative industries, with strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
