COURSE CURRICULUM

The core modules of the MSc Construction Project Management program are designed to develop advanced technical, managerial and strategic skills aligned with industry practice. Advanced Construction Cost Management focuses on controlling costs across the project lifecycle, covering estimation, budgeting, value engineering, risk analysis and the impact of economic, regulatory and sustainability factors. Building Information Modelling introduces the principles, standards and tools of BIM, highlighting its role in enhancing collaboration, coordination and project planning through 4D and 5D integration. Construction Contract Law and Risk Management develops understanding of legal frameworks and standard contracts such as JCT, NEC and FIDIC, alongside techniques for identifying, allocating and mitigating project risks. The Project Management module strengthens knowledge of professional methodologies, leadership and decision-making needed to manage complex projects effectively. Ethics, Sustainability and Environmental Assessment explores the ethical responsibilities of construction professionals, focusing on sustainability challenges and environmental impact assessment. Lean and Agile Supply Chain Management examines advanced approaches to improving efficiency, resilience and innovation within construction supply chains. The Individual Research Project allows students to undertake an in-depth investigation into a relevant construction management topic, applying research skills to real-world challenges. Together, these modules provide a comprehensive preparation for leadership roles in construction project management.
