COURSE CURRICULUM

The Water and Environmental Engineering MSc with a focus on Civil Engineering equips students with advanced technical and analytical skills to address contemporary challenges in water, wastewater, and environmental management, integrating artificial intelligence, climate resilience, and sustainability principles. The program covers civil engineering applications of AI, including data analytics, machine learning, and deep learning, to solve sector-specific problems aligned with Sustainable Development Goals such as sustainable cities, clean water, and industry innovation. Modules on climate change and the environment examine natural and human drivers, adaptation and mitigation strategies, energy use, air quality, renewable sources, and flood and coastal management. Contaminant transport and remediation teaches water flow and pollutant modelling, numerical simulations, and aquifer remediation, while geo-environmental engineering develops skills to manage complex environmental challenges. Hydrology and hydraulics focus on the application of principles to sustainable engineering, complemented by project management training in modern techniques, tools, reporting, and team coordination. Water and wastewater treatment engineering emphasizes advanced treatment technologies, desalination, and design skills. Research methods and professional development cultivate scientific rigor, innovation, and understanding of professional practice.
