COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business and Sustainability MSc at Brunel University London equips students with the knowledge and skills to address global business challenges while promoting sustainable development. Core modules provide a foundation in International Business Strategy, enabling students to understand the forces shaping global markets and apply management theories to international business activities such as foreign entry. Sustainable Development Practice and Policies develops practical skills for working in sustainable businesses, think-tanks, and international organisations, focusing on evidence-based decision-making, project management, and impact evaluation. International Business Ethics and Corporate Governance explores ethical, sustainability, and governance issues through shareholder and stakeholder perspectives, while Environment and Sustainability for Business examines environmental governance, natural resource management, and the risks posed by climate change and biodiversity loss, using frameworks such as UNEP thematic areas, DPSIR, and Planetary Boundaries. Understanding Business and Management Research provides the research skills necessary for the dissertation, which allows students to undertake independent, applied research in international business and sustainability. Optional modules enable further specialisation in areas such as climate politics, entrepreneurship and small business management, migration and business, international development, international organisations, international trade, and global business investments. Together, these modules prepare graduates with analytical, strategic, and practical expertise to lead sustainable business practices, innovate in global markets, and respond effectively to environmental and social challenges across diverse international contexts.
