COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Financial Regulation and Corporate Law LLM at Brunel University provides students with a comprehensive understanding of corporate law and financial regulation in an international context. The program combines compulsory modules, including a dissertation, comparative corporate law, principles of corporate law, corporate responsibility, sustainability and ESG, as well as the theory and practice of international financial regulation. These modules equip students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand corporate governance, the protection of minority shareholders, directors’ duties, and the global regulatory framework of financial markets. The program also explores the legal, ethical, and societal responsibilities of modern corporations, including sustainability and ESG considerations, preparing graduates for responsible corporate leadership. Optional modules allow further specialisation in areas such as international commercial law, international arbitration, WTO law, privacy and data protection, internet law, banking and technology law, AI law and ethics, international dispute settlement, governance, regulation and compliance, and international cultural heritage law. Through this combination of core and elective modules, students develop a critical understanding of corporate and financial legal frameworks, dispute resolution, compliance, and emerging challenges in technology and sustainability. Graduates are equipped to work in law firms, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and multinational corporations, or pursue further research and academic careers, making them highly competitive in the global legal and financial sectors.
