COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence, Law and Technology LLM is designed to provide students with advanced interdisciplinary knowledge of AI, digital technologies, and their legal, ethical, and regulatory implications. Compulsory modules equip students with expertise in AI law and ethics, privacy and data protection, AI compliance, regulation of digital markets, and the research skills required to complete a 15,000-word dissertation in a relevant area. The program develops understanding of the socio-economic, legal, and ethical challenges arising from AI deployment and the governance frameworks necessary for compliance across sectors. Students learn to critically evaluate existing laws and policies while gaining practical skills in legal research, analysis, and writing. Optional modules allow further specialisation, covering topics such as business and human rights, banking and technology law, international commercial arbitration, Internet law, bioethics, patents and trademarks, copyright, intellectual property and new technologies, corporate governance, sustainability, ESG, international commercial law, and international humanitarian law. These modules enable students to explore how emerging technologies intersect with regulatory frameworks, human rights, commercial practices, and ethical considerations. By integrating compulsory and optional learning, the program develops graduates capable of navigating complex legal, technological, and ethical landscapes, preparing them for careers in law firms, corporate compliance, regulatory bodies, and international organisations.
