COURSE CURRICULUM

The Law with International Arbitration and Commercial Law LLB at Brunel equips students with a strong foundation in core legal principles while providing specialist knowledge in international arbitration, commercial law, and cross-border dispute resolution. In the first year, students study public law and legal skills, criminal law and criminal justice systems, contract law, and civil justice systems, alongside academic and professional development, to build essential legal knowledge and transferable skills. The second year focuses on tort law, EU law in the UK context, land law, and trusts, giving students an understanding of regulatory frameworks, legal principles, and societal impacts. In the final year, students study international commercial arbitration, gaining practical experience in resolving cross-border disputes, and have the option to take modules in banking law, company law, evidence, international investment law and arbitration, competition law, families, children and the law, jurisprudence, AI, data and the law, intellectual property law, sentencing and penology, and international law and human rights. Students also complete a dissertation, developing independent research and critical analysis skills. The program combines theoretical study with practical applications, preparing students for careers in international business, legal practice, dispute resolution, and commercial law. Graduates gain analytical, research, and advocacy skills, making them highly employable in both legal and non-legal sectors while providing a pathway to professional qualification as solicitors.
