COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business BSc at Brunel University is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and global perspective needed to succeed in the dynamic international business environment. In the first year, students gain foundational understanding in accounting, financial management, marketing, organisational behaviour, management enquiry, technology, and the international business environment, preparing them to analyse business decisions and understand organisational structures. In the second year, students deepen their knowledge with modules in economics, entrepreneurship, emerging markets, international relations, human resource management, quantitative methods, and career preparation, enhancing analytical, strategic, and research skills while understanding global business contexts. The final year focuses on international business strategy, globalisation, trade, and investment, alongside issues and controversies in international business studies. Optional modules allow exploration of entrepreneurship, international marketing, innovation, corporate entrepreneurship, strategic innovation management, and business ethics, sustainability, and governance. Across all three years, the program emphasises applying theory to practice, understanding global markets, and developing critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. The course integrates real-world case studies, research projects, and strategic analysis, preparing students to address challenges faced by multinational enterprises, understand global economic drivers, and engage in strategic decision-making. Graduates gain the skills and experience necessary for careers in international business, trade, innovation, and management.
