COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Design BSc at Brunel University is a hands-on course that equips students with the skills to create interactive digital products, services, and 2D/3D graphical content. In the first year, students build a foundation in programming, digital media, motion design, photography, video production, UX design, and design communication, while gaining insight into the creative industries and developing professional networks. The second year focuses on applied digital design, including media aesthetics, immersive mixed reality, experimental digital futures, IoT applications, 3D design, animation, and motion graphics. Students engage in practical projects, working with industry partners and exploring advanced technical and artistic skills, alongside research, documentation, and project management. In the final year, students complete a major individual digital design project, applying research, design, implementation, and evaluation skills to produce professional-quality work. They also explore digital experiences, industry practices, and ethical considerations in the creative sector. Optional modules allow further specialization, including advanced 3D animation, artificial intelligence and games projects, and advanced graphics and motion design. Across all years, the program emphasizes creativity, technical proficiency, and professional readiness, preparing graduates with the practical experience, portfolio, and critical understanding required to succeed in the fast-evolving digital design and creative industries.
