COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting and Business Management BSc (Hons) offers a structured three-year curriculum combining core accounting knowledge with broader business management skills. In Year 1, students develop an understanding of international business, accounting fundamentals, employability skills, management concepts, organisational behaviour, marketing principles, and the role of information technology in decision-making. They also strengthen their mathematical skills to support economic and financial analysis. Year 2 builds on this foundation with compulsory modules in accounting information systems, company law, management accounting, financial accounting, research methods, and preparation for placement and graduate careers. Students gain practical skills in analysing financial information, understanding legal frameworks governing businesses, and applying research techniques in business decision-making. Optional modules allow specialisation in areas such as human resource management, digital marketing, or critical management perspectives. In Year 3, compulsory modules in audit, assurance, and strategic financial management develop deep understanding of financial decision-making and assurance processes. Optional modules provide opportunities to specialise further in corporate reporting, taxation, strategic management, or a research project exploring contemporary issues in accounting. Throughout the course, students engage with real-world business examples, analytical tools, and professional development opportunities, preparing them for careers in accounting, finance, management, and related fields.
