The Brunel Accountancy BSc (Hons) offers a structured learning experience across three years, developing core accounting knowledge and professional skills. In Year 1, compulsory modules introduce the foundations of accounting, economics, mathematics, financial markets, and statistics, providing students with essential theoretical and analytical skills and an understanding of the financial system and data analysis tools. Year 2 builds on this foundation with compulsory modules in management accounting, taxation, financial accounting, statement analysis, and company law, enabling students to apply accounting techniques, understand the UK tax system, prepare financial statements, and explore the legal framework surrounding business operations. Optional modules such as Ethics and Accountancy Research Methods or Quantitative Methods allow students to focus on ethical issues or advanced statistical techniques. Year 3 deepens professional expertise with compulsory modules in audit and assurance, financial management, and advanced financial reporting, equipping students to evaluate financial risks, make investment decisions, and analyse complex financial statements.
